Privacy
Texoma Weekly is a free weekly email. We keep as little about you as we can, and we never sell or share it.
What we store
- Your email address, so we can send you the newsletter.
- Your town, which you pick when you sign up (and the text you type under "Which town?", if you choose Other). We use it to see which towns our readers live in, so we can cover them well.
That's all. We don't ask for your name, and we don't buy or add data about you from anywhere else.
Who processes it
- Kit (kit.com) keeps our subscriber list and sends the email. Kit records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, as email services do.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It runs the Turnstile check on the signup form to keep bots out, and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
When you click an event
Links in the email open that event's page on this site. When that happens we add one to a counter for that event, your town and that day. We don't record your IP address, your email address, or anything else that identifies you. The counts show us, and our sponsors, which events people care about.
To avoid counting the same click twice, your browser keeps a cookie named seen_ followed by the event's id.
It holds only the value 1, carries no identifier, and expires at midnight.
Unsubscribing and deleting your data
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.
To have your email address and town deleted entirely, write to hello@texomaweekly.net and we'll remove them from Kit.
